Driving Test and Mid-Autumn Festival
Friday, October 9, 2009
Gah...I nearly got into trouble yesterday. How scatter brain can I get? This is because the assignment that was to be submitted last week was due ystd; but alas poor me did not bring the edited version to school...and nope it isn’t in my email inbox either. So I was really panicking by then, cos though its worth only 10%; every grade count as I’m really working towards a Distinction for this particular module.[Don’t laugh la!] Luckily; as I was contemplating if I should rush home after school to bring my assignment; I spied it somewhere in my notebook[that’s the beauty of not throwing assignments away] and quickly went to the library to edit it.[Phew]
After school; we had our group meeting that stretches until 4pm. Well done guys! And I was practically brain-dead after school.
Mid-Autumn festival was pretty fun. On 2nd of Oct; I had a super late dinner with my friends @ a steamboat restaurant in bugis. On the 3rd of Oct; I followed my parents to a family frien’s house for dinner and get to play with a baby. Babies! They are so cute, but I’m not ready to have one myself yet though a lot of people my age/younger than me already have one or two children. After that; I return home while my parents went for further mid-autumn celebration. Did you know that they were invited to three places?! Anyways I was a little miffed that I did not join them at the 3rd house as 1] the kids there are adorable. What’s not adorable about them was when one of the son ask me how come I’m so short? And how he terrorize my soft toys whenever he come into my room. GrrH. 2] They are having home-made shark fin soup. Yup you hear that right. And my dad have the cheek not to ask me to join them! And they were raving about the soup when they were back home. Really cannot stand them...
And finally...I BOOKED for my driving TEST! It’s on Nov 26[crossing fingers that I’d pass my test so that I’d be able to enjoy myself in MedaN]. Yup; I’m pretty confident of my skills therefore I booked the test. And it doesn’t help that my dad is bugging me to take the test....Find that the parents love to contradict themselves. Haix. Anyway here’s a recap of my last few driving lessons:
Parallel parking was a torture. Not really since the S course and the C course is the worst of all. In my first lesson of parallel parking, the idiotic instructor ask me if I prefer to speak Chinese instead. Like hello! My Chinese is worse than my English. And aren’t you too impatient for me to produce results? Those driving instructors that I work with before know that I cannot absorb instructions in one step cos it need to be break into chunks. And one demonstration is freaking no use. Anyway I’m glad that I managed to clear parallel parking within 2 lessons. I’ve a good time doing my vertical parking though. The instructor was amazed when I managed to do a perfect one in 20min and commented that my computer was working that day. So I joked to him that he better hope that my computer won’t hang on the day of the test. However, one good thing about being me is that I’m confident....Over-confident in fact. So I’d prove everybody wrong and pass the Driving Test within 1 Attempt!
