Long Overdue POst
Saturday, May 2, 2009
It's been quite a long while since my last post. I didn't really make an effort to keep my blog updated these past few weeks was because I was hardly around the internet. Secondly, whenever I was on the internet[which was very rarely] 2 little monkeys will be very kay-poh. So let's get the details out shall we?
April 16 was a hectic day for me. I was busy finishing my assignment. Though it was due on monday, I was fed up because the blackboard was not working and thus I could not submit my work on time. After completing my assignment, I went out to JP to meet my friend who very kindly loan me her MaxiS line. Thanks Sherry! Next we went to  the lib to borrow some books.[Note to self: No need to take so much books during the next trip as there are lotsa books at homE!] Once I reach back home, I did some last-min packing before boarding my bus at BoonLay Place. Thank God the trip was smooth sailing. After we crossed the custom, I settled myself comfortably and passed the time by watching movieS.
17/4. Reached at 4.20am. It is surprisingly early as we would normally reached at 5/6plus. After sleeping for the next few hours, we went out for breakfast. Then my uncle send me to my grandma's house. I nearly panicked when my auntie called back to say that I might need to help her tutored 7 students for awhile as she would be late. Luckily, my uncle was around and thus I was spared from the duty. Once she finished her tuition, and Grace was send for her lessN, we went out for chendol. Next, we went for a car show before having some local snacks that could only be found there.[And thus it was mission accomplished] In the evening, I managed to submit my assignments before meeting a friend for a drive plus supper.
18/4- Off to Cameron Highlands! It was my 3rd time there. I dare say the best time we had over there was during my 1st trip which was when I was in sec3. During that trip, the highlight was when we went to the actual farm[not commercialized] that was high up in the mountains and we took a heavy duty jeep to visit some vegetable farm. I was excited when at the Strawberry farm, we could pluck as much strawberries as we like!
Back to the current trip, we left home at 10.45am after the children came back home from their lessons. We checked in at 2plus and freshened ourselves before the 1st session begun. After an hour of ice-breaker, with the camp team[breakthrough to blesS], we had some free time and thus went to explore the pasar malam before having  dinner. Once dinner was over, we had a nite session after which we went out [supposedly] for some satay, However, to our horror, all the nearby stores were done for the nite![ Mind u, it was only 11pm!]
19/4- We had 2 sessions in the morning after breakfast. In the afternoon, we had plenty of time to spare and thus went around Cameron to explore the place while J locked himself up in his room to watch tv. The night session was fantastic though and after which we adjourned to our rooms for the night.
20/4- Camp was over at 12pm. After that, we stop for lunch at kg rajah be4 heading for Ipoh. It was HSH at 6.30pm. Not quite really cos I was shocked when I found out that my relatives bed time was at 10pm! This is because my uncle and aunty who were teaching need to wake up at 5plus to get ready for the morning session. So my timing from mon to fri was like this: Morn woke up at around 8plus. Study theory after b'fast. 2.30-7pm was tv time. Unhealthy I know. But what to do? Most of my weekdays passed like this except for wed when I followed my uncle for a meeting at Telok Batik. That day, we had double dinner as my uncle didn't noe that they would be having dinner as well. We quickly went back home after the meeting end at 11pm.
Thurs was pasar malam nite and thus we settled our dinner there.....One other interesting event was that we saw an iguana in the house. No kidding...
17/4. On friday evening, I stayed overnight at my uncle's house. They had been going w/o electricity for the past few days[due to power plant outrage]. After attending cg, we went back home to sleep at 11pm.
18/4- Sat was a day when I wished that I brought along my camera. After a break'fast of roti canai, we went to the Navy open house in Lumut in the afternoon. The crowd was there at full-force. What was worse was the weather-- making everybody so sweaty & melting! After boarding the military ship, we went to Mc for a drink before driving off to the nearby cinema to purchase movie tickets for the Jackie Chan movie. That was however not the only event that happened on sunday.
19/4 sun. Morning passed peacefully. Service was about the Mein tribe which the missionaries were working with. The DRAMA began after that, over a misunderstanding of the camp fees. Surface to say, it left both parties upset and mad almost the entire day. However, credit goes to my uncle who tried to make my aunt happy.
20/4- Had lunch with friend at a cafe which has a pair of swinging seats.[Nice!] Then my aunt dropped me at Kg koh to say good bye to some relatives. After which we went for my uncle's [early] b'day dinner  as I would be going back on tues.
21/4-- I made my way home at 9am. Once again, I crossed the custom safely and made it back by 5pm. And that, sums up my holiday trip to M'sia!
Footnote: might be going for another holiday next weekend. Please make it happen even though its a school week! [First day of school some more. Pretty pls?]
